A lifelong visual artist, Elizabeth Hopkins discovered photography during a road trip across the Midwest shortly after graduating from Skidmore College in 2015. She studied digital photography under Joseph Podlesnik in 2018.
In her photography, Hopkins explores geometric relations and moments of emotive lighting in her everyday surroundings. Her photographs are liminal scenes, largely devoid of people, that may evoke melancholy or unease. In these images, ordinary things are not what they seem. Hopkins’ work is a meditation on mundane scenes that we don’t usually see unless we are looking.
Based in New England, Hopkins exhibits in art galleries throughout the United States. She has experience in portrait and street photography commissions.
